Why Stamping Beats Laser Cutting for Short Run Parts

Laser is a great way for small quantity parts such as 25 pieces or less or for turnaround within days. Once you go over that 25 piece mark and get into the 250 to 500 range, laser cutting is not cost effective. You will pay too much for laser cut parts as the quantity increases. Also, with a laser cut part, the tolerance is lost. On each and every part, there will be a variance in tolerance, therefore, no uniformity in the parts.
